Jeep Gladiator Flips a Car Fleeing Police in San Diego

Next time I’m trying to convince my wife I need to get bigger tires on my Jeep, I’m showing her this video of a Jeep Gladiator putting the kibosh on a car fleeing the police. The car barrel rolls off the Jeep’s beefy tires as it tries to squeeze between it and a neighboring vehicle. The driver was later apprehended. See, big tires are worth the money…

The Nixon Fire has burned over 4,000 acres in and around the Beauty Mountain Wilderness, near the border of San Diego and Riverside County. As of last night, it was 8% contained. Further north, the Vista Fire has burned nearly 3,000 acres in the San Bernardino Mountains and is 95% contained.

How to Watch the Perseid Meteor Showers this August

Yosemite Climber Gets Life in Prison for Sexual Assault

If you’ve followed us for a while, you may recall back in January, we shared the troubling Outside Magazine story about Charles Barrett, a prominent Northern California climber who was accused of sexual assault.

In June, Barrett was sentenced to life in prison after being convicted of two counts of aggravated sexual assault. According to the FBI, in addition to harassing his victims for years after assaulting them, when in custody, Barrett made numerous phone calls and “threatened to use violence and vindictive lawsuits against the victims.” Good riddance.

Ineos Grenadier Review

It’s hard to beat the looks of the old-school Land Rover Defender, with its boxy adventure vibes. You may have heard of the Ineos Grenadier, a vehicle made to capture the flavor of those classic overland rigs. I’ve seen a few Grenadiers rolling around San Diego lately and my interest is piqued. If you, too, are curious, the video above by Doug DeMuro, known for his thorough—and quirky— reviews, is worth a watch.
