San Diego Natural History Museum offers over 60 free guided hikes

San Diego Natural History Museum, located in Balboa Park, is offering over 60 free naturalist-led hikes on trails across San Diego County between now and June 2025. There are mountain hikes, desert hikes, coast hikes…you get the picture. You do need a reservation and might want to sign up before they fill up.

Mt. Waterman, a small ski area about an hour outside Los Angeles, has a new owner and some changes on the horizon. One interesting twist is that they will offer an exclusive membership to limit the number of people riding on powder days.

San Diego fisherman sets state record for marlin catch

Last weekend, a San Diego fisherman caught a marlin that weighed 666.2 pounds — more than 100 pounds above the state record. Other fishermen set a record earlier in the month when they reeled in a 492-pound swordfish.

Canada: This Instagram video shows a climber taking a head-over-heels nasty whipper fall on a trad route in Squamish, BC. It is gnarly, but he is okay.
